Lunch Lecture Movares

Thursday the 9th of June during the lunch break, Joost of Movares will be giving a lunch lecture about Electro Magnetic Compability in High Voltage transport systems in Carré 2K.

As the energy transition progresses, more HV-lines and HV-cables need to be build or adapted. These HV systems will influence the surroundings in many different ways. Stakeholder management is therefore essential. Based on calculations, it’s possible to determine if a HV system might give result in a dangerous situation. Influence mechanisms that will be discussed are inductive coupling, thermal influence and galvanic coupling. Inductive coupling between HV-systems and assets in the surrounding area can create dangerous situations or even life threatening situations. The heat of HV cables can increase bacterial growth in pipelines with drinking water or decrease the efficiency of other medium or high voltage cables. Designing or changing HV systems is therefore very complicated.

Come on by for an interesting lecture, and of course, free lunch!
